EPR Training Course

  • On-site in vivo EPR tooth dosimetry system: Morning tutorial and afternoon practical session
  • Comprehensive EPR courses, including an overview of advanced techniques and hands-on training in Easyspin techniques; onsite supply of in vivo tooth EPR instrument

Objectives

  • Morning didactic lectures present a basic overview of the principles of EPR spectroscopy and instrumentation; provide an introduction to advances in EPR instrumentation, spectral acquisition, and analysis
  • Afternoon parallel EPR practical sessions offer trainees the opportunity for hands-on familairization and operation of in vivo tooth dosimeter and learning the basics of quantitative EPR methods

Cytogenetic Training Course

  • Chemical-induced premature chromosome condensation (PCC) assay
  • FISH translocation assay using #1-2-4 WCP probe
  • Technical update by IREM, Hirosaki University

Objectives

Proficiency in performing the fundamental procedures of the PCC-ring assay, utilized in dosimetry for patients subjected to high-dose exposure, and expertise in using the FISH-translocation assay for retrospective dosimetry.

Prior to training

Hirosaki University will prepare the following:

  • Cultured blood (10 Gy-X-ray) for chemical-induced PCC assay training
  • Cells for FISH-Tr assay training
  • Probe-mounted chromosomes for FISH-Tr assay training
  • Fixed cells for sharing modified techniques (enriching metaphase cells)
  • Improved C-banding (cTAG) slides
